Yuval Keren gives a talk about RPA

„Every so often, significant shifts happen in enterprise technology. It happened with mainframes, Graphical User Interface, web and mobile. Automation technologies, such as RPA are now changing the way businesses operate“, Yuval Keren said during a recent talk about Robotic Process Automation (RPA) he gave in a master’s level course at EPFL.

Yuval Keren, Head of Digital Solutions at Itecor, spoke of the need to implement RPA in organisations. He described the tools and techniques available and their limitations. He complemented the talk with a live demo of an RPA tool.

His presentation showed that RPA could help organisations improve business processes involving manual tasks such as moving data between applications. Think, for example, about how many applications and tabs you need to open on your computer to complete your work – which directly impacts business productivity. RPA frees employees’ time so that they can focus on more value-added tasks.

Yuval further explained that „The general subject of automation is present on every leader’s mind simply because the economics of automation is too compelling to ignore. Since almost every sector is being impacted by automation, preparing future tech experts for it is essential.”
